Mastercard and Android Pay provide free coffee and travel across London

29 September 2016

A new promotional campaign is held by the partnering companies Mastercard and Android Pay who offer their users to travel for free using virtually any transport in London every Monday in October. Customers just need to tap their smartphone or any other mobile device with the Android Pay installed just like an Oyster traveling card and Mastercard will return the fee for the travel up to 30.50 pounds a day.

The promotion will remain active for four Mondays in the coming month. Apart from fare refund users of Android Pay will have access to free coffee at any point of Caffè Nero across the country. All they have to do is to link their Mastercard card with their Android Pay account and pay for coffee at any Caffè Nero shop on any Monday.

Transportation means linked to the offering include buses, underground, trams, most railways nationwide and cable cars of Emirates Air Line, as well as overground in London and Thames river buses.

An executive at MasterCard UK & Ireland notes that while the offering of free travel was itself bringing much excitement to consumers, the company decided to even more expand it with added value of free coffee making the spending on the Mastercard and Android Pay even more pleasant.

Both promotional campaigns mean that consumers pay for their travel and coffee on Mondays and Mastercard will be returning their money back within a certain period which is about 28 days at large.
