eBay announced the end of PayPal era on its online auction website as it has plans to switch from long-term partnership with its former subsidiary to Adyen, an Amsterdam-based payment services provider, as a primary payment method offered to customers at the checkout with PayPal to be sideshifted to the position of a supplementary option. The announcement moved the shares of PayPal down 12% in the afterhours trading.

ING, an Amsterdam-based multinational banking and financial services company, has reportedly acquired a 75% stake in Payvision, a Dutch international card acquiring and payment processing platform, for a compensation amounting to 270 million euros. The deal comes after Payvision’s 66% volume increase report for 2017.

First Data confirmed that an error was committed this morning on its website when a news release was published reporting the company’s plan to takeover BluePay, a Naperville-based provider of credit card payment processing solutions for business customers in the United States and Canada. First Data later removed the post on its website and made a statement clarifying its current negotiations with BluePay over its potential acquisition.

ProPay, a TSYS-owned merchant services company, has been introduced in Australian market to allow small to medium sized businesses in the country to use its merchant acquiring payment network and, thus, to accept payments on cards from their customers. ProPay targets direct selling companies, small merchants, distributors and payment intermediaries.
