Starling bankStarling Bank, a London-based licensed mobile only challenger bank, announced the integration of its services with Apple Pay, and now customers may add their Starling debit card to their accounts with Apple Wallet. The official statement reports that now Starling customers may shop online using their iOS devices.

Starling Bank has become the latest in a series of other financial institutions joining the Cupertino company’s mobile payment platform. Still, it will be the first in the United Kingdom to provide in-application support of Apple Pay. Before the physical payment card arrives by mail Starling customers will be able to link their cards with the mobile wallet.

Earlier in July Apple published a report announcing addition of 21 financial institutions to the group of banks and other organizations supporting Apple Pay payments. The latest list includes such names as Community Bank & Trust of Florida, Fremont Federal Credit Union, Community Savings Bank, American Eagle Financial Credit Union and others.

Meantime, Starling in April entered into the partnership with Pay by Bank, a mobile payment service offered by Vocalink, allowing its customers to make purchases online. Julian Sawyer speaking for Starling at that time, noted that Pay by Bank technology enables its customers perform transactions on the go and enjoy a host of choices and peace of mind. Besides, token technology featuring Pay by Bank, keeps sensitive information within the banking application protecting it against fraud and data breach.
